India Business & Biodiversity Initiative: Mainstreaming Sustainable Management of Biodiversity by Indian Businesses

India Business & Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI), is a national initiative undertaken by the Indian companies to address the critical issue of biodiversity loss. IBBI’s broad-based multi-stakeholder approach, involving business, government, non-government organisations and academia serves as a national platform for dialogue sharing and learning. The side event on Mainstreaming Sustainable Management of Biodiversity by Indian Businesses included:

  • Launch of "Business and Biodiversity in India: 20 Illustrations", a case study report on biodiversity initiatives in India
  • Showcase of good business practices by IBBI member companies
  • Panel discussion
  • Reception and networking

Indo-German Biodiversity Programme implemented by GIZ, supports IBBI under its project, “Incentives for Sustainable Management of Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services” (ISBM), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ).
