Intercultural Competency and Diversity – Advanced Course

PARTICIPANTS

You are an expert or manager in the field of international cooperation with at least 3 years of professional experience working abroad, or experience as an accompanying partner.

OBJECTIVES AND CONTENT

This course will help you to optimise your cooperation with local partners and international teams. You will reflect on situations from your professional assignments abroad, and broaden your practical skill set.

In this course, you will learn,

  • how to reassess your intercultural competence profile and to improve your knowledge in this field appropriately.

  • to interpret and reflect on patterns of communication and behaviour, and to become aware of different perspectives. 

  • to maintain a balance between adaptation and authenticity when working with people from different cultures. 

METHODS

  • Focus on the practical level and the individual participants in region-spanning groups

  • Analysis and reflection on personal experiences when abroad

  • Structured exchanging of experiences, peer counselling

  • Working on the individual participants’ case studies
