Employers in Germany: GIZ becoming more and more popular

12.11.2015 – Young professionals from all sectors state that they would like to work at GIZ.

Two new studies reveal that the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is becoming more and more popular among young professionals. In trendence Institute’s ‘Young Professional Barometer’ study, GIZ ranks 20th among Germany’s 100 most popular employers. Of the young professional respondents, 3.8 per cent named GIZ as their employer of choice – a result that improves the company’s ranking by one in comparison to last year. BMW still occupies the top position, followed by Google, Audi and Bosch.

GIZ even managed to move up 18 positions in a survey conducted among science graduates by market research company Universum and now occupies 32nd place. According to Nina Braun, who is responsible for human resources marketing at GIZ, ‘The international nature and diversity of our work, the majority of which we conduct on behalf of the German Government, makes us an attractive employer.’

The rankings are based on the responses of several thousand young professionals. The studies address subjects such as preferred employers, career goals, satisfaction with current employers, willingness to switch jobs and the criteria that make employers attractive. The latest issues of German business magazines Capital and Wirtschaftswoche included reports on the two studies.
