GIZ employees have left South Sudan
13.07.2016 – To GIZ’s relief, all German employees working in South Sudan have left the country due to unrest over the past few days.
Due to heavy fighting in the capital Juba, all German GIZ employees working in South Sudan have left the country. They have all landed safely in Uganda, to the company’s relief.
GIZ has been working for national and international clients in the area of present-day South Sudan since the 1970s, albeit with interruptions. The German Government has been cooperating with South Sudan since 2013 in various priority areas including food security and development of agricultural markets as well as urban water and sanitation.
