At the 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference, the international community set itself the ambitious goal of limiting global warming to 2˚C. A year on, it’s time to take stock. Is the global community really delivering on its declared goal? How is Germany doing? And as a leading country in the field of environmental protection and renewable energies, what can we do to encourage other nations to reduce greenhouse gases?

  • Claudia Kemfert, environmental expert at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW)
  • Tanja Gönner, Chair of the Management Board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
