Easy access to project data
Transparent information on the projects and programmes of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is now freely available online at www.giz.de/projectdata. The extensive project information includes brief overviews and summaries, charts and maps. Internet users can now access detailed information on ongoing projects being implemented by GIZ as well as information round-ups on individual countries and regions. This section of our website – with easily accessible facts and figures – supplements the information already available. The financial scope of the projects is also listed. And more data is available every day.
‘GIZ aims to present its own work transparently for the general public, and to foster an exchange of knowledge and experience inside and outside Germany. This new presentation of project data is another important step in that direction. It is also our way of helping the German Government meet its international transparency commitments,’ says GIZ’s Michael Krempin.
The German Government has undertaken to implement the international transparency standard by the end of 2015. This standard is the brainchild of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), a multi-stakeholder initiative that brings together state and non-governmental organisations. Germany is a member. The aim of the international transparency standard is to enhance the effectiveness of development cooperation by publishing easily accessible information swiftly.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. It supports the German Government in the fields of international cooperation for sustainable development and international education. GIZ helps individuals and societies to develop their own prospects and improve their living conditions.
