Annual Country Conference, India

The Annual Country Conference was held in New Delhi on 26.03.2014. Attended by nearly 200 GIZ India personnel, it was an occasion for exchange of news and views. More significantly, the primary take-away from the event was the new mantra for GIZ India – doing and achieving.

As part of this, Stefan Helming, Country Director, stressed the significance of re-aligning focus on impact of projects through incisive monitoring and the role of strategic communications in highlighting impact. He shared that the German commitment of support to India for the coming 5 years has doubled, crossing EUR 1 billion, the highest ever since 1958.

Heiko Warnken, Head of Economic Cooperation and Development, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in India, gave an update of news from the German embassy.

National personnel who had completed 10 and 20 years were felicitated by Mr. Helming and Vanita Sharma, HR Head.
