Conference: Visions of Bioenergy – Bringing local initiatives to Brussels

Local bioenergy initiatives, coupled with pragmatic policies, can positively impact the whole supply chain with multiple benefits to entire regions, resulting in enhanced local economies and improved resource management. It is therefore important to take both the institutional as well as the grassroots perspectives into account. Biomass Logistic and Trade Centres (BLTCs), promoted by the BioRES Project, are one example of the many innovative and local bioenergy initiatives taking place around Europe. Visions of Bioenergy offers the opportunity to discover a few of these concrete projects, and even visit an Austrian BLTC through a total immersion 360° video. It’ll be like travelling to the place…

About the project:

BioRES is introducing the innovative concept of Biomass Logistic and Trade Centres (BLTCs) to Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria based on international cooperation with European technology leaders. As regional ‘bioenergy markets’ these BLTCs will help to increase both local supply and demand for woody bioenergy products. BioRES has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon2020 Research and Innovation programme, GIZ is one of the project partners.
