Call for Proposal - 83377585 - Training and capacity building on the green book and the national climate change information system

Local government plays a crucial role in building climate resilience through planning and responding to climate change impacts. The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF) sees the Green Book and the National Climate Change Information System (NCCIS) as two critical tools that will assist the country and government in enhancing its objectives on successfully integrating adaptation planning into South Africa’s development objectives particularly at a local government level.

The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF) in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, are seeking to appoint (a) qualified service provider(s) to develop training material and provide capacity building or training to the municipal officials on how to use the online system to generate climate risk profiles to inform their planning and decision-making process. There is also a need to integrate the National Climate Change Information System (NCCIS) in the trainings as a very important tool to ensure that adaptation options identified during the training on the Green Book are embedded into the NCCIS and municipalities are able to use the system for planning and reporting purposes in future.

GIZ invites eligible and professional companies with local presence in South Africa, to participate in this tender. Tender documents are available for downloading until 09.04.2021.
