Call for Proposal 83378254 - SUPPORT DEFF IN ALLOCATING CARBON BUDGETS TO COMPANIES: PHASE I – SECTOR METHODOLOGY APPLICATION AND DATA COLLECTION
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH South African office, is seeking to appoint (a) qualified service provider(s) with sector-level expertise to engage industry and support DFFE in allocating carbon budgets to companies in these sectors.
The overall objective of the project is to allocate carbon budgets to companies within prescribed sectors, using product-based benchmarking as a methodological approach to carbon budget allocation for the first five-year mandatory phase (2023-2027). In instances where a product-based benchmarking approach is not appropriate, the appointed service provider will work with DFFE and industry to determine an appropriate methodological tier for each sector. In this first phase, the service provider is expected to support the data collection and an assessment of methodological applicability and, based on the outcomes of the assessment, the implementation of appropriate methodology(-ies) for each sector..
