Call for Proposal - 83382084 - Appointment of an independent service provider for the validation of the results and data analyses of the installed Intelligent Geyser Controls at the City of Cape Town.

The South African-German Energy Programme (SAGEN) is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in cooperation with the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), Eskom and the South African Local Government Association (SALGA).

SAGEN, the City of Cape Town and the Start-Up Plentify are implementing a pilot project, in which 500 Smart Geyser Controllers will be installed in buildings in the City of Cape Town.

The aim of the joint project is to analyse the potential of the deployed intelligent controllers in reducing bulk electricity costs, preventing load shedding and improving the business case for solar adoption through greater utilization over a period of one year.

GIZ is procuring a contractor to:

Support the City of Cape Town, Plentify and SAGEN to independently validate the data analyses conducted by Plentify and draft a technical report summarizing the results.

GIZ invites eligible and professional companies with local presence in South Africa, to participate in this tender.
