DEVELOPMENT SERVICE – what does it mean?

Development workers (DW) are experienced professionals who work and live for a limited period of time in an African, Asian, Central Asian, Latin American or Middle Eastern country. They advise partner organisations on the basis of the German Development Workers Act (EhfG). GIZ development service sends more than 300 development workers abroad each year.

ON THE WAY TO YOUR OWN ADVISOR ROLE

More than 80 per cent of job descriptions for development workers (EH) list advising as the primary role. But what is meant by that, what skills must men or women bring? What do GIZ and partner organisations expect?

THE GIZ CIVIL PEACE SERVICE

The Civil Peace Service (ZFD) is a programme for preventing violence and promoting peace in crisis and conflict regions. The ZFD is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence.

REPORTS

Service is not just service - the activities that experienced professionals expect in development services are diverse and varied.
