Tools and Guidance
The tools and guidelines provided here are based on the findings of the research project. They also draw on products related to inclusion and social protection developed by GIZ and other organisations in other contexts. They are presented in line with the project cycle to make it easier to identify appropriate tools at each stage of your own projects. In most cases, however, individual tools will need to be adapted to the specific context.
For truly inclusive projects and programmes it is important that you address these issues as early as possible in the project cycle. Ideally, to ensure the objectives and indicators take disability into account, the needs of persons with disabilities should be included in the analysis and preparation stage of the planning process.
Whatever approach you adopt, persons with disabilities should be involved in the process, as nothing should be decided without the full and direct participation of those affected by the decision.
