International fuel prices

Energy consumption and the dependence on fossil fuels are increasingly important issues in transport policy. Prices for gasoline and diesel are generally on the rise, and sharp price hikes have become common in many partner countries of German development cooperation. The limited supply of fossil fuels is only one reason behind such trends. Non-transparent and ad-hoc price regulation by governments and no longer bearable levels of fuel subsidies are other important contributing factors.
GIZ, on behalf of the German Federal Government and other commissioning parties, makes comprehensive information on fuel prices and regulation available to a wide audience, thereby enabling a more transparent and efficient policymaking.
