OBJECTIVE

The LCBA is an initiative to establish a platform of business opportunities (technological solutions) aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change and/or are linked to circular economy in selected countries in Latin America. The project seeks to bring EU services and technological solutions to cover the specific needs of companies in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Colombia.

OUR APPROACH

The project is coordinated from Brazil, from there the Team Leader and her team guides and supports activities in all 4 countries. Each country operates with a local liaison officer and support staff. GIZ is fully in charge of the project development in Colombia & Chile.

The bulk of the project is working on 5 chained activities:

• Mapping of potential low carbon and circular economy technology needs and gaps in each partner country and finding a match with available offer in the EU.

• Identification and evaluation of over 800 business opportunities in each country and mobilization of potential EU partners in the targeted sectors.

• Organization of specific matchmaking activities, including screening of candidates, virtual online matchmaking sessions, webinars and other activities in each of the 4 countries around the initially mapped sectors.

• Provision of comprehensive technical assistance to the commercially viable and most bankable projects resulting in a finalized formal document.

• Support to the commercialization of the most promising Joint Business Concepts and their submission to financial institutions credit access when needed.
