Ausgangssituation

Afrikanische digitale Visionär*innen schaffen Innovationen mit positivem Einfluss auf Menschen und Umwelt. In vielen afrikanischen Ländern fehlt jedoch ein förderliches Umfeld, in dem innovative Ideen echte Veränderungen bewirken können. Vom schwierigen Zugang zu Märkten, bis hin zu fehlenden Netzwerken und unzulänglicher Innovationspolitik verhindern zahlreiche Faktoren, dass innovative Ideen ihr volles Potenzial entfalten können.
Make-IT in Afrika setzt auf einen kollaborativen, systemischen Ansatz, um Hindernisse zu überwinden und Innovation zu fördern.

Ziel

Nationale und panafrikanische Innovationsökosysteme sind zukunftsfähig und schaffen ein resilientes Umfeld für digitale Visionär*innen. Neue Produkte und Dienstleistungen führen zu sozialem, ökologischem und wirtschaftlichem Wandel in afrikanischen Regionen.

Vorgehensweise

Make-IT in Afrika stärkt afrikanische Innovations-Ökosysteme auf drei Ebenen:

1. Startups: Das Projekt unterstützt digitale und klimaorientierte Start-ups dabei, ihre Geschäftsmodelle an Marktbedingungen anzupassen und nachhaltiges Wachstum zu fördern. Weiter werden Start-ups in Westafrika als Teil von Make-IT in Afrika, durch die CATAL1.5°T Initiative, mit finanziellen Zuschüssen unterstützt.

2. Innovations-Förderer: Das Projekt stärkt Netzwerke und Innovation Hubs, um bessere Services für Start-ups anzubieten, und verknüpft nationale mit panafrikanischen Akteuren. Zudem fördert es den afrikanisch-europäischen Austausch über das Projekt AEDIB|NET der EU.

3. Politische Rahmenbedingungen: Das Projekt entwickelt skalierbare Methoden für digitale Innovationen und unterstützt deren grenzüberschreitende Nutzung. Zudem fördert es politische Maßnahmen, die ein innovationsfreundliches Umfeld schaffen.

Context
African digital visionaries are creating innovations that have a positive impact on people and the environment. However, many African countries lack a supportive environment in which innovative ideas can bring about real change. From difficult access to markets to a lack of networks and inadequate innovation policies, numerous factors prevent innovative ideas from reaching their full potential.
Make-IT in Africa takes a collaborative, systemic approach to overcoming obstacles and promoting innovation.

Objective
National and pan-African innovation ecosystems are fit for the future and create a resilient environment for digital visionaries. New products and services are bringing about social, ecological and economic change in African regions.

Approach
Make-IT in Africa strengthens African innovation ecosystems on three levels:
1. Start-ups: The project supports digital and climate-oriented start-ups in adapting their business models to market conditions and promoting sustainable growth. Furthermore, start-ups in West Africa are supported with financial grants as part of Make-IT in Africa through the CATAL1.5°T initiative.

2. Innovation promoters: The project strengthens networks and innovation hubs to offer better services for start-ups and links national and pan-African actors. It also promotes African-European exchange through the EU's AEDIB|NET project.

3. Policy framework: The project develops scalable methods for digital innovation and supports their cross-border use. It also promotes policy measures that create an innovation-friendly environment.
