Project description (EN)
Indonesia is one of the largest RE mini grid operators in the world. With more than 1000 RE mini grids developed and operated, Indonesia is surely having much knowledge about RE mini grids. With it’s rapid economic development and its position as global development partner of BMZ, Indonesia has more global responsibilities. With the wealth of knowledge on RE mini grids, Indonesia shall contribute to the development of energy access in different regions in the world supporting the climate change combat and achievement of SDG goals.
The objective of the project is promoting decentralized renewable energy that will contribute to the combatting of global climate crisis and at the same time supporting the economic and social development and to strengthen Indonesia’s position in global development communities particularly in the field of decentralized renewable energy.
The project is implementing triangular cooperation approach, which means there are at least three countries involved in the exchange. Triangular cooperation will enable multi-directional learnings which will position all participating countries as source of knowledge and/or recipient of knowledge. With Triangular cooperation, all participating partners (countries) will benefit from the project.
The expected results are impactful exchanges that will help recipient countries in boosting their energy access program supporting the achievement of SDG goals and combating climate change.
