Project description (DE)

Ausgangssituation:

Project description (EN)

Initial situation:
Many young people live in precarious circumstances, patriarchal structures or conflicts. Girls in particular are affected by violence and educational disadvantage. Sport for Development (S4D) can empower young people and break down gender stereotypes.
Objective:
The Global Programme Sport for Development improves the education, economic participation and gender equality of young people and empowers disadvantaged children and youth worldwide.
Approach:
The Global Programme Sport for Development advises international, regional and national actors on how to independently implement S4D programmes for marginalised young people. This involves developing capacities within organisations to empower young people in the areas of employment promotion, gender equality and social cohesion. The programme has country components in Colombia, Pakistan, Tunisia and the Western Balkans. Co-financing from Adidas enables the upscaling of activities in Pakistan.
S4D is integrated into curricula and strategies and offers young people, including refugees, better learning and employment opportunities across the board.
A global S4D community promotes exchange, networking and high-quality training opportunities. A fund mobilises resources and commitment from sport and business to scale up S4D.
Impact:
The project contributes to SDGs 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 16 and 17 and promotes the employability and social participation of disadvantaged young people, with a particular focus on girls and young women in terms of feminist development policy and their professional integration.
