Ausgangssituation

Im Ausland lebende Marokkaner*innen tragen durch ihre Geldtransfers erheblich zur Entwicklung Marokkos bei. Innerhalb des Landes fehlt es jedoch an Investitionen in wertschöpfende Gewerbe.
Ein Unternehmen in Marokko zu führen, ist mit vielen Herausforderungen verbunden. Dazu zählen komplizierte Verwaltungsprozesse, fehlendes Wissen sowie mangelnde Informationen zum Unternehmertum.
Zudem leben viele zum Teil sehr gut ausgebildete und hoch motivierte Menschen vor allem aus der subsaharischen Diaspora in Marokko; deren Potenzial für die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung Marokkos noch mehr genutzt werden soll.

Ziel

Die marokkanische Regierung und zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen nutzen das Potenzial der im Ausland lebenden Marokkaner*innen sowie anderer Diasporagruppen erfolgreich für die langfristige wirtschaftliche Entwicklung Marokkos.

Vorgehensweise

Das Projekt agiert in den folgenden Handlungsfeldern:
• Es unterstützt die Begleitung des wirtschaftlichen Engagements der in Europa lebenden Diaspora, indem es Leistungen verbessert sowie staatliche und zivilgesellschaftliche Strukturen in Marokko ausbaut.
• Es baut mit zusätzlichem beratendem Personal die Kompetenzen der staatlichen und zivilgesellschaftlichen Strukturen in der Pilotregion Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima auf, wodurch es die sozioökonomische Integration der im Ausland lebenden Marokkaner*innen und der in Marokko lebenden Diaspora unterstützt.
• Es vermittelt Migrant*innen Wissen zur Gründung und Erweiterung von Unternehmen. 

Context

Moroccans living abroad make a significant contribution to Morocco’s development through their money transfers. But there is a lack of investment in value-adding industries within the country.
Running a business in Morocco brings numerous challenges. These include complex administrative processes, insufficient knowledge and a lack of information about entrepreneurship.
In addition, there are many people living in Morocco, in particular from the sub-Saharan diaspora, who are highly educated and highly motivated. But their potential for Morocco’s economic development is not being fully utilised.

Objective

The Moroccan Government and civil society organisations successfully harness the potential of Moroccans living abroad and other diaspora groups to support Morocco’s long-term economic development.

Our approach

The project operates in the following areas:
• It supports the economic involvement of diaspora living in Europe by improving services and expanding state and civil society structures in Morocco.
• Using additional advisory staff, it will develop the expertise of state and civil society structures in the pilot region of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, thereby supporting the socio-economic integration of Moroccans living abroad and diaspora living in Morocco.
• It provides migrants with knowledge on how to set up and grow a business.
