Ausgangssituation
Kamerun ist von Krisen und Konflikten betroffen, die zu Gewalt führen und den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt gefährden.
Gleichzeitig sind Frauen entscheidend für die Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft des Landes, besonders im Gesundheitswesen, für soziale Dienstleistungen und in der Landwirtschaft. Die Vision für Kamerun 2035 (Vision du Cameroun 2035) und die nationale Entwicklungsstrategie (Stratégie Nationale de Développement, SND30) behandeln die Gleichstellung der Geschlechter sowie den Kampf gegen geschlechtsspezifische Gewalt daher als wesentlich, damit sich das Land entwickelt. Sie betonen ebenfalls, dass die Zivilgesellschaft ein wichtiger Partner für staatliche Institutionen ist, um die nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele der Vereinten Nationen zu realisieren.
Zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen in Kamerun fehlt es jedoch an fachlichen Kompetenzen, finanziellen Mitteln sowie Netzwerken, um die gleichberechtigte soziale und wirtschaftliche Teilhabe der Bevölkerung zu fördern sowie im politischen Dialog einzufordern. Große Potenziale, um Konflikte zu bearbeiten und die Gleichberechtigung der Geschlechter zu fördern, bleiben bisher ungenutzt und verhindern Fortschritte für ein friedliches Zusammenleben.

Ziel
Das Projekt fördert die lokale Zivilgesellschaft darin, Ansätze zu entwickeln und eigenständig umzusetzen, die Geschlechterrollen verändern. Dadurch sollen zvilgesellschaftliche Organisationen in Kamerun und besonders in den Regionen Nord-West und Süd-West wirksamer zu gleichberechtigter sozialer und wirtschaftlicher Teilhabe der Bevölkerung beitragen.

Vorgehensweise
Dafür vernetzt es zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen und baut den Dialog mit lokalen Autoritäten aus. Zudem unterstützt es Aktivitäten der Organisationen finanziell. Indem es Weiterbildungen umsetzt sowie die fachlichen und kaufmännischen Fähigkeiten entwickelt, trägt das Projekt zusätzlich dazu bei, zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen zu professionalisieren. 

Context
Cameroon is affected by crises and conflicts that lead to violence and jeopardise social cohesion.
At the same time, women are crucial to the country's economy and society, especially in healthcare, social services and agriculture. The Cameroon Vision 2035 (Vision du Cameroun 2035) and the national development strategy (Stratégie Nationale de Développement, SND30) address gender equality and the fight against gender-based violence as essential issues to the country’s development. They also emphasise that civil society is an important partner for state institutions in realising the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
However, civil society organisations in Cameroon lack the technical expertise, financial resources and networks to promote the equal participation of the population in society and the economy and to assert these demands in political dialogue. Great potential for dealing with conflicts and promoting gender equality remains untapped, which prevents progress towards peaceful coexistence.

Objective
Civil society organisations in Cameroon contribute more effectively to the equal participation of the population in society and the economy. In the Northwest and Southwest Regions in particular, this enhances social cohesion and economic resilience while curbing gender-based violence.

Approach
The project promotes local civil society in developing and independently implementing approaches that change gender roles.
To this end, it networks civil society organisations and expands dialogue with local authorities. It also provides financial support for the organisations’ activities. By implementing training courses and promoting technical and commercial skills development, the project also supports the civil society organisations’ professionalisation efforts.
 

Situation initiale
Le Cameroun est touché par des crises et des conflits conduisant à la violence et menaçant la cohésion sociale. Dans ce contexte, les femmes jouent un rôle crucial pour l’économie et la société du pays, notamment dans les domaines de la santé, des prestations sociales et de l’agriculture. La Vision du Cameroun 2035 et la Stratégie Nationale de Développement (SND30) considèrent donc la parité de genre et la lutte contre la violence sexiste comme des facteurs essentiels du développement du pays. Ces plans soulignent également l’importance de la société civile comme partenaire pour les institutions publiques en vue d’atteindre les Objectifs de développement durable des Nations unies.
Or, les organisations de la société civile au Cameroun manquent des compétences spécialisées, des moyens financiers et des réseaux qui permettent à la fois de promouvoir la participation sociale et économique de la population et de revendiquer cette participation dans le cadre du dialogue politique, ce qui entrave les progrès vers une coexistence pacifique.

Objectif
Les organisations de la société civile au Cameroun contribuent efficacement à la participation égalitaire de la population à la vie sociale et économique. Cette approche permet de développer la cohésion sociale et la résilience économique et d’endiguer la violence sexiste, en particulier dans les régions du Nord-Ouest et du Sud-Ouest.
Le projet aide la société civile locale à élaborer des approches transformant les rôles de genre et à les mettre en œuvre de façon indépendante.

Approche
À cette fin, il crée des liens entre les organisations de la société civile et établit un dialogue avec les autorités locales. Le projet soutient aussi les activités des organisations sur le plan financier. Par la mise en œuvre de mesures de formation continue et le développement de compétences commerciales et spécialisées, il contribue également à la professionnalisation des organisations de la société civile.
