MIA – Media and Information Centre

Our media and services are designed to support your individual learning process – whether online or in-person, for a specific training course or with a topic you have chosen yourself. As part of the Skills4Abroad programme, the library is an important part of the diverse learning landscape at Campus Kottenforst in Bonn-Röttgen. Our services are available to you even if you are not preparing for an assignment abroad.

These include an impressive 25,000 media on countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe as well as the MENA and Caucasus regions. Key focus areas are management and consulting, development policy, intercultural communication and didactics, crisis management and trauma, conflict and security, environment and society, accompanying family members as well as world and national languages.

MIA in a nutshell

MIA in a nutshell

MIA’s collection can be found at Campus Kottenforst, on the ground floor and upper floor of building 2. In addition to books, magazines, maps, posters, music, films, games and development-policy documents, we also offer learning materials for specific courses.

You can research and order all available media in our online catalogue.

MIA’s digital collection includes open access, e-journals on relevant topics and a large number of e-books, which are also listed in the online catalogue. In addition, two subscription databases (Munzinger – Internationales Handbuch – Länder aktuell and OECD iLibrary) can be accessed via GIZ’s Wi-Fi and local area network (LAN) at the Bonn and Eschborn offices.
