The South African-German Energy Programme (SAGEN) is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with co-funding from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), provides technical support to the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI) in this regard.

SAGEN’s energy efficiency component seeks support the adoption of energy management practices and energy efficiency measures within the public sector. Public sector infrastructure accounts for 2-3% of total final energy consumption in South Africa. DoD intends to conduct a detailed energy audit of the three military bases with the support of the SANEDI and the SAGEN programme.

GIZ is seeking the services of a contractor to conduct detailed energy audits and develop energy consumption baselines of three (3) military bases in the northern part of Limpopo province.
