Living and working in another country is a great way of improving your career prospects. GIZ’s exchange and scholarship programmes offer young people from Germany the opportunity to gain professional skills, improve their language proficiency and experience other work environments and cultures first-hand. You can take part in our programmes either during or after your studies.

The weltwärts with GIZ programme offers young people the opportunity to undertake twelve months of voluntary service in one of our partner countries. During this time they learn from and with others and make a personal contribution to sustainable development. weltwärts, which means ‘towards the world’, is aimed at young adults aged between 18 and 23.
