Living and working in another country is a great way of improving your career prospects. GIZ’s exchange and scholarship programmes offer young people from Germany the opportunity to gain professional skills, improve their language proficiency and experience other work environments and cultures first-hand. You can take part in our programmes either during or after your studies.

This year sees the end of GIZ’s involvement in the weltwärts programme: the current group of volunteers returning mid 2013 is to be the last. We will therefore not be accepting any further applications. At present there are 450 weltwärts volunteers stationed in GIZ partner countries. During this 12-month period they acquire and share knowledge and can, through personal commitment, take on an active role in shaping a sustainable future.
