State Secretary Kitschelt elected new chairman of GIZ Supervisory Board

Four new members on GIZ Supervisory Board in addition to Kitschelt

Bonn/Eschborn. The Supervisory Board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH elected Friedrich Kitschelt as its new chairman at its meeting today. Dr Kitschelt was appointed State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in January 2014. He was previously head of the Ministry’s Directorate-General for Africa and Latin America; Global and Sectoral Affairs and prior to that of the Directorate for Asia and South-Eastern Europe. Dr Kitschelt has also worked at the Federal Chancellery, where he headed the division for North-South relations and human rights policy of the German Government.

The following persons were also appointed to the Supervisory Board of GIZ:

Anja Hajduk, Member of the Bundestag (MdB), Sonja Steffen, MdB, Brigitte Zypries, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Stephan Steinlein, State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Office.
