Staff safety and security
GIZ is increasingly working in countries with unstable political and economic frameworks and poor infrastructure, as well as in regions threatened by natural disasters. This gives rise to increased safety and security risks for employees working on assignments abroad.
The company has a particular duty to ensure the safety and security of staff and their families in foreign countries. This is central to securing GIZ’s future.
We take preventive and risk-avoidance measures. These depend on the potential dangers in the country of assignment and project region. They include security training and regular risk analyses and assessments. In high-risk countries there are full-time risk managers and round-the-clock security offices.
GIZ has professional crisis management procedures to deal with any acute crises that arise.
