GIZ strengthens commitment to the Pacific Region with new office

The milestone event was graced by Mr. Immanuel Gebhardt, Country Director for GIZ Philippines and Pacific Island Countries. In his address, he expressed his enthusiasm for the new office and commended the hard work and dedication of the GIZ staff. "Since my last visit to Fiji, last year…things have now moved to a different level. The rapid progress of each project within the span of 12 months is a testimony to the hard work and dedication of the GIZ team. With the opening of this new building, people will know we are here to stay," said Mr. Gebhardt, reflecting on the significant developments witnessed during his time in the region.

The soft opening provided an opportunity for GIZ to demonstrate its continued dedication to the Pacific Region, which has been a focal point of its work since 1977. The Pacific Region faces numerous challenges, including the impacts of climate change, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. GIZ's presence in Flagstaff, Suva, is poised to bolster its efforts in addressing these critical issues. As GIZ's journey in the Pacific Region continues, it remains steadfast in its mission to support the region's development and address the unique challenges it faces. With Immanuel Gebhardt's words as a driving force, the GIZ team looks forward to making a lasting and positive impact in the Pacific for years to come.
