Strengthening governance for environmental protection and management
The project’s aim is to increase the capacity of the Ministry of Environment for policy-making and management and to strengthen its role within the socio-political context. To this end, it will carry out training activities and will advise on issues related to organisational development, the creation of cooperation structures and networks, as well as the establishment and expansion of information platforms and communication structures. To contribute to the strengthening of the decentralization approach, the project will expand its target group to include Ministry of Environment directorates and partners in governorates and to develop joint activities with local partners. The project builds on the results of the previous project phase, which aimed at strengthening the cooperation between local non-governmental organizations and administrations as well as the Ministry of Environment in in order to improve environmental awareness and practices among the Jordanian population
