Grants for Elite programme

The Asian experience is a must.

Bonn/Eschborn. Gathering professional experience where economies are at their most dynamic – in Asia. For more than 20 years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has worked on behalf of the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation to provide young professionals, graduates and students with a chance to hone their practical skills in international business. By undertaking a 4-month internship in one of eight Asian countries, they have been able to gain an insight into foreign economic and education systems while learning to think in global terms. The experience also fosters their mobility. Next year, more than 30 young Germans will have the opportunity to visit China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan or Viet Nam and to add this prestigious qualification to their junior Management profile.

To prepare for the internship, successful candidates attend language courses in Germany and in the host country along with intercultural seminars. The Heinz Nixdorf Foundation also funds grants to cover participants' living costs abroad. For those who are interested in taking part in this internship and have a university-level degree in a technical or commercial subject, applications can be submitted online before 30 September 2014.
