How you can cooperate with us as an international partner

Are you an international partner working in sustainable development? Together we can achieve even more! We support you – with a regional presence, project expertise and suitable partnership models.

As a federal company with more than 50 years’ experience in international cooperation, we implement complex projects worldwide – in an efficient, effective and partner-oriented manner. International partners work with us because we:

  • have a regional presence and excellent networks
  • have a high level of expertise and implementation strength
  • can respond to different requirements with flexibility
  • and, together with you, share responsibility for sustainable development.

Our partners

GIZ has worked with international partners worldwide for many years. These include various partners with very diverse requirements and ideas:

  • foreign ministries of donor countries
  • line ministries and their downstream organisations
  • national and regional development banks
  • multilateral organisations such as UN agencies and funds

Many of these partners contribute to existing projects through cofinancing or work with us to develop new project approaches.

Greater impact, greater visibility, greater efficiency – these are the benefits for international partners

Together with international partners, we achieve more – for our partner countries and the global agenda. Thanks to this cooperation, we can:

  • increase the effectiveness and visibility of our projects and, as a result, of Germany’s international cooperation
  • bring together different approaches from different partners
  • offer innovative cooperation solutions for our clients and partners.

A particularly important example of this is the Team Europe approach. This promotes partnerships and joint projects with international partners in multi-donor constellations. The projects are cofinanced in part by the European Union (EU).
