Information for applicants

A CV and cover letter are required for every application. If you are invited to an interview, we will also need your references.   

No, changes are no longer possible once an application is submitted. Please check your documents carefully before sending them. 

Please apply in the language the job advertisement is written in.  

On our job portal you will find a button labelled ‘Apply now’ in every job advertisement. You can manage applications and view the status via the career section.

No, please apply for specific job advertised via our job portal.

Yes, you can apply for multiple positions at the same time – each individually via our job portal. 

It takes time to fairly and carefully review the applications we receive. We will contact you as soon as possible. 

Your details will be transferred to our application management system and checked by the relevant departments only.

Get off to a good start: our onboarding process

You will be well prepared for your start at GIZ: once you have signed your contract, you can access your own personal induction plan via our digital onboarding portal. This is tailored to your place of assignment and function. Over the first six months, we will support you with workshops, digital learning modules and in-person events.
