State Secretary Jäger appointed new Chair of the GIZ Supervisory Board

Appointment takes effect on 13 April 2018

Bonn/Eschborn. The Supervisory Board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has elected Martin Jäger to serve as its new Chair. Mr. Jäger joined the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as State Secretary in March 2018. He has previously held various management positions in federal ministries, the Federal Chancellery, the private sector, and the diplomatic service. ‘In my role as State Secretary and now also as Chair of the GIZ Supervisory Board, I look forward to focusing on urgent and important international cooperation issues.’

The GIZ Supervisory Board comprises an equal number of shareholder and employee representatives (10 each), and appoints, monitors and advises the Management Board as it carries out its role.
