CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE (CSA) INTERVERNTIONS AND CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT OF SELECTED COMMUNITIES IN THREE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITIES IN SOUTH AFRICA

The (GIZ) Climate Support Programme Phase IV (CSP IV), is looking for a service provider to conduct trainings and capacitate communities on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices. This work is led jointly by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE), and the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD). The work is directed by the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, and the Climate Smart Agriculture flagship program

The aim of this project is to build the capacity of communities in implementing climate smart agriculture practices that would assist communities to adapt to climate change and help mitigate climate-induced water challenges, whilst enhancing household food security. This is phase two of the project which will be conducted across 3 Provinces, where approximately 240 community members will be capacitated in using tower gardens, and the rooftop rainwater harvesting in combination with the gravity-based drip system.
