Call for Proposals 83435112

The GIZ’s Digital Skills for Jobs and Income (DS4JI) aims to increase the employment prospects of young people, especially women, in an increasingly digitalized South African economy. The project supports the improvement of employability of young people through a comprehensive approach that supports public and private training providers and industry initiatives in training design and delivery as well as SMME’s to improve hiring practices and stakeholder engagement. The project is supported by DS4JI’s political partner Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT).

DS4JI aims to improve the employability of a cohort of NEET (Not in Employment, Education, Training) young python programmers to develop into Junior Pipeline Technical Directors by providing industry orientation, digital and problem-solving skills that will improve their chances of employment.  DS4JI seeks to support the development and implementation of an innovative skills programme by enlisting the services of a training institution with existing industry networks that can provide the necessary in demand animation, gaming, VFX and XR skills.

Companies with a history and a proven track record are encouraged to apply to develop a tailor-made, short innovative course.  The syllabus should include industry orientation, a software-specific training component, soft skills, mentorship, a teamwork practical component and work-place based learning opportunities. Companies are required to pilot the short course.

GIZ invites eligible and professional companies with local presence in South Africa to participate in this tender.
