On 24 January, the Philippines’ DENR, GIZ, and the Asian NGO Coalition through the GIZ Project "Responsible Land Governance in Mindanao" organised the National Land Governance Summit in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The conference brought together around 150 participants from government, civil society, development partners, and private sector to raise awareness on the Enhanced Land Sector Development Framework and Roadmap 2019-2040 -- a sector-wide national strategy that aims to address the long-standing problems in the administration and management of the country’s limited land resources through policy reforms.

Ms. Laura Oexle, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Philippines, delivered the welcome message and highlighted that the German government will remain committed in supporting the Philippines to identify strategies, data, successes, failures, creative collaboration, and more, so that the country and all actors can develop and implement frameworks that will always protect the welfare of the Filipino people and its land.
