German Ambassador visits training center supported by GIZ Project on low carbon sea transport in Marshall Islands

Last week in the Pacific Islands, German Ambassador to the Philippines Anke Reiffenstuel and Special Envoy Grzeski met with local and national leaders, representatives of NGOs, and UN agencies to further strengthen Germany’s engagement in the Indo-Pacific region. In the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), she attended the opening of a Training Center supported by the German-funded Project "Low Carbon Sea Transport," which is implemented by GIZ as part of Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI). Joining them was GIZ Country Director for the Philippines and the Pacific Island Countries Immanuel Gebhardt. 

Ambassador Reiffenstuel is also accredited to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), RMI, and the Republic of Palau.
