One decade of supporting regional cooperation for TVET in ASEAN – key knowledge products of RECOTVET.

The 4th Industrial Revolution, characterized by technological advancement especially in digitalisation, causes profound changes in the world of work. The ASEAN community is committed to leveraging the opportunities of technological change as well as to mitigate the risks through adaptation of policy frameworks, governance structures and evidence-based planning in many sectors affected by digital transformation. Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a crucial role in providing a well-trained and digital savvy workforce which matches current and future demands of the labour market.

The German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) supported the ASEAN region from 2014 till 2024 through the project ’Regional Cooperation for TVET in ASEAN' (RECOTVET), implemented by GIZ. The project aimed at strong TVET institutions, dynamic TVET ecosystems, improved capacity of TVET personnel and advanced labour market information systems and has achieved considerable results in close cooperation with partners in the region.
