GIZ-Nokia Development Partnership with the Private Sector (DPP) Felicitation of Fellows

GIZ strongly believes that the fusion of information, creativity and sustainability can help in bringing about a change in this area. To achieve this, around 48 young fellows have been mentored by experts in the field of creativity and sustainability to come up with inspiring campaigns on the themes of water, waste, e-waste, energy and transport. These fellows have now reached the end of the fellowship duration and have completed it successfully with very positive outcomes.

To appreciate the effort and enthusiasm expressed by these fellows, a felicitation event is being organised in Kolkata on 8th December. Along with the felicitation, the music album, a product of Create to Inspire Youth Programme, will also be launched. A street play, theatre performance, singing, dancing and film screening will be part of the event. In addition, the mentors will also share their experience with the fellows throughout the journey of the fellowship.

The project seeks to improve the collection and recycling of electronic waste (e-waste) from mobile phones and accessories in a more efficient and sustainable way in selected target cities of India, enhancing the consumption behaviour of students and youth and improving the working conditions for informal waste collectors.
