Participants reflect the importance of the overall concept of sustainable development (SD). They will become familiarized with the role that education and TVET could play in meeting requirements of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Based on a case study they will get to know possible strategies, objectives, activities and procedures on promoting TVET towards SD in national TVET systems.

As greening economy requires a workforce with adequate green skills, TVET plays an important role in the transformation process towards sustainable development. The participants will understand the concepts of green economy, green skills/competences and green jobs. They will learn how to identify green competences and get to know a framework structure for a training module on cross-occupational green basic skills.

The participants will get a deeper introduction on Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and how to integrate them didactically into teaching and learning activities. It focusses on pedagogical aspects, such as e-didactics and methods, planning, conducting and evaluating courses, producing teaching and learning content and communicating with students via LMS.

This course is about reference systems which can be useful to implement green issues in TVET institutions systematically. The participants will become familiar with the ISO standards on environmental and energy management, the most popular standards in these fields worldwide. They get an insight into worldwide business initiative Corporate Social Responsibility as well as the global Eco Schools programme.

TVET plays a key role in implementing the vision of sustainable development (SD) on global as well as on national level. Participants will reflect on the overall concept of SD and the role that TVET could play in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In order to anchor TVET for SD in the respective national TVET system the participants will get to know the importance of National Action Plans (NAPs) for the strategic implementation of ESD / TVET for SD.

Reforms of TVET systems paired with fast technological innovations and developments of the labour markets result in an institutional environment that needs to be prepared to embrace change and innovations at a high frequency. Therefore, this course is designed to raise awareness towards innovative and necessary changes and to build competences among school management staff to initiate, plan and sustainably implement change and innovation projects in TVET institutions.

It is expected that these and similar applications will permanently change the way of teaching and learning. The course gives an introduction on how to use Google Apps for teaching, learning and collaboration in TVET.
