Certified information security
Since June 2025, 48 GIZ countries of assignment and the majority of GIZ units in Germany have been certified in accordance with the globally recognised standard for information security management systems (ISMS), ISO/IEC 27001.
With this seal of approval, GIZ is one of the few actors in international cooperation to provide independent proof that the information of commissioning parties, partners and employees is adequately protected.
Especially in times of growing hybrid threats, ISO certification is an important quality feature that symbolises our reliability and stability.
To maintain this level of quality, annual monitoring audits are carried out to check and verify the effectiveness of the ISMS.
All of GIZ's business processes worldwide will be certified by 2028. This will create a dynamic security system that not only withstands today's attacks, but also continuously adapts to the increasingly complex challenges of the future. This will help to ensure the organisation's long-term business viability and service provision
