Using digital data – for sustainable results

Using data responsibly with precision and sharing it openly – this is how we promote sustainable development in our partner countries and drive effective digital transformation.

Steering projects with precision for visible results

Data is essential to our work. We use it to plan our projects with precision, manage them more effectively and measure their results. Standardised digital tools help us to record, evaluate and share data in a consistent manner. This enables us to create greater transparency and demonstrate objectively what we do and the results we achieve.

By working together to analyse data, we gain specialist knowledge, improve processes and foster cross-organisational learning. Our systems are designed for easy transfer to partners and to facilitate strategic project planning.

Using data responsibly – with the focus on people

Data is key to sustainable development and is a driver of digital transformation. Used efficiently, it allows us to simplify and accelerate processes and improve their design. However, data can also be misused or exacerbate existing inequalities. That’s why we pay particular attention to data privacy, transparency and digital rights. Our Responsible Data Guidelines and the Data Protection Guidelines form the basis for this. We work with our partners to promote fair rules and responsible data strategies that focus on people.

Open data, shared knowledge

We are committed to the open and responsible handling of data. Personal data always remains protected – but there are many other types of data that can benefit the general public.

Open data enables participation, fosters innovation – and makes international cooperation transparent.

For this reason, we are classifying our data and gradually making suitable data sets available. This is not only about providing data to the public: we are also creating new ways of sharing data-driven knowledge, participating in shared learning and taking more targeted measures within the company. This allows us to contribute to effective knowledge management.
