Agricultural, viticultural and horticultural internships in the USA

The current call for applications opened at the start of the year.

Bonn/Eschborn. On behalf of the German Government, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is running a programme of internships in cooperation with agricultural enterprises in the USA. The programme is aimed at young professionals and students with Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in agriculture, viticulture and horticulture. The internships last between four and 12 months and are organised by GIZ in conjunction with Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota. Participants are able to gain more specialist knowledge, improve their command of English and familiarise themselves with the American culture and way of working. This experience helps prepare them for future management roles.

The current call for applications opened at the start of the year. Candidates must be younger than 26, have a good command of English and submit their application at least three months before their planned departure for the USA. The internships are generally remunerated by the participating companies. To cover their travel expenses, interns can apply for grants from the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
