German Development Minister Müller is briefed on key projects at GIZ in Berlin

18.06.2015 – German Development Minister Müller highlights GIZ’s competence for international cooperation for sustainable development.

German Development Minister Müller met in Berlin with the Management Board and staff members of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to discuss and learn about the progress of key, politically important projects and programmes. During his visit in early June he expressed his thanks for the many years of successful cooperation that is based on the in-depth knowledge of the organisation. The Federal Minister said: ‘In you and in KfW, we have the competence we need.’ Cooperation through the ‘made in Germany’ initiative is held in high regard by foreign partners, explained the Minister: ‘Through GIZ, we demonstrate our strengths abroad. We are a benchmark for the world.’

Cooperation with German institutions and associations, education and promotion of employment, innovative approaches to international cooperation, stabilising conflict regions, refugee aid programmes , and Africa as ‘a continent of opportunities’ were the main topics that GIZ staff members presented to Minister Müller.
