GIZ’s magazine akzente now has its own website

Reports from the magazine now online and also available as app

akzente, the customer magazine of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, now has its own website. It will go live on 15 April, when the latest issue appears, and can be accessed online. The contents and design of the website will be of the same high standard as the printed magazine and the app for tablets. The website has been developed by Frankfurter Societäts-Medien GmbH, which also produced the app and is responsible for the printed magazine in conjunction with GIZ. The new website is another step taken by GIZ towards achieving digital communication.

The website shows the wide spectrum of GIZ’s work. Authors and photographers visited projects that demonstrate how diversity makes societies richer and companies more profitable. Business today is inconceivable without diversity, which is considered a vital prerequisite for innovation and success.

Ingrid Müller from the Berlin-based newspaper Tagesspiegel looks at how openness and tolerance can ensure that different people can live together in harmony. The Jordanian Minister of Culture Lana Mamkegh has contributed an article on diversity for this issue, which also includes an interview with Susanna Nezmeskal-Berggötz, who heads the Diversity Department at Deutsche Post DHL Group.

GIZ operates in more than 130 countries around the world on behalf of the German Government. The reports contained in akzente take us to Pakistan, where the reform of the training system is giving young people better prospects, and to Ethiopia, where farmers are using modern techniques that are helping them cope better with the current drought. In northern Iraq, akzente visited refugee camps and spoke to the people there who have fled war and terrorism. Many services on offer in the camps ensure not only that their basic needs are met, but also that they can look to the future with new confidence.

Its clear, accessible language and modern layout make the akzente website attractive to a wider audience, not only to specialists. Short videos complement some reports on the website and the app. You can download the app free of charge from the main app stores (Apple, Google, Windows). akzente is aimed at key figures from the worlds of politics and business. The magazine is published several times a year in German (with a circulation of 16,000) and in English (with a circulation of 4,500). You can subscribe simply by sending an email to the editor.
