Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel will become Chair of the GIZ Management Board
Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel to take over from Tanja Gönner on 1 November 2022.
Bonn/Eschborn. 14 September 2022 At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH unanimously appointed Managing Director Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel Chair of the GIZ Management Board. He will take over from Tanja Gönner on 1 November 2022 when she becomes the Director General of the Federation of German Industries (BDI). Schäfer-Gümbel joined the GIZ Management Board in October 2019 and is currently Labour Relations Director.
