Still time left to apply for the USA exchange programme

Spend a year in the USA after completing your professional training

Bonn/Eschborn, 31 August 2017. If you want to experience the ‘American Way of Life’ first hand next year, there is no time to waste. You have until 15 September 2017 to request your application documents for the next CBYX exchange, which starts in August 2018.

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Programme (CBYX) gives young professionals the opportunity to spend twelve months in the USA where they can immerse themselves in the nation’s historical, social and economic realities. The German Bundestag has supported CBYX for over 35 years, giving young professionals the chance to improve their language skills and improve their employability. The combination of college attendance with a professional internship is a particularly attractive aspect of the programme.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is responsible for implementing CBYX and for overseeing the young professionals that take part.

CBYX is now gearing up to give another 75 motivated young professionals from Germany the opportunity to spend a year in the USA studying and interning. Co-funded by the German Bundestag and the U.S. Department of State, the fellowships cover all pre-departure preparation and re-integration expenses as well as the cost of accommodation in a guest family plus travel and insurance.

If you are a trainee or young professional born after 31 July 1993, have learned English for several years and will have completed your vocational training prior to departure in August 2018, you are eligible to apply. The final deadline is 15 September 2017.
