Context
The presidency of the Council of the European Union rotates among the EU member states every six months. On 1 July 2020, Germany will assume the presidency of the Council of the EU for six months. At the same time, a new triple-headed presidency comprising Germany, Portugal and Slovenia will commence.
Objective
The programme aims to support the German presidency of the Council of the EU in the Ministry of Health (BMG)’s area of responsibility with preparing and conducting events and with its priority areas. BMG’s programme specifically aims to create tangible added value for the citizens of the EU through the cooperation of the member states.
Approach
GIZ supports the ministry with planning, organising, conducting and following up on Council of the EU presidency events in the area of health, with conceptual and organisational aspects of implementation.
