The current situation in Honduras is complex and requires broad social agreements to enable deep and sustainable reforms in its development path. The EU’s commitment to Honduras is therefore more crucial than ever. The MATCH represents the cornerstone of this support, as it strengthens institutional capacities to implement public policies effectively and sustainably, achieving results of high public value.
GOAL
Contribute to Honduras’s national goal of becoming a country with quality education and health, free from extreme poverty, and supported by strong social protection systems, in line with the National Development Plan and SDG 1.
APPROACH
The ATMATCH project provides technical support to Honduran public institutions to enhance their capacity for efficient, results-oriented public policy implementation. It focuses on improving performance and visibility in the EU’s Multiannual Indicative Programme (MIP) priority sectors. Emphasis will be placed on developing gender- and climate-sensitive strategic plans and budgets.
ACTIVITIES
• Support the design, formulation, and diagnosis of public policies in MIP priority sectors.
• Assist in creating budgetary policies and tools for results-based budgeting.
• Transfer technical skills to strengthen the Center of Government (CoG).
• Integrate gender perspectives into public policies.
• Facilitate consultation processes between the State and civil society.
EXPECTED RESULTS
• Public policies are formulated, implemented, and monitored in line with MIP priorities.
• Results-oriented budgets and improved tax policies are gradually applied.
• Institutional mechanisms for policy coordination, monitoring, and open government are strengthened, enhancing macroeconomic stability.
• Gender sensitivity is integrated across the public value chain—in policies, strategies, and budgets.
