Initial situation: Karnataka German Multi Skill Development Centre (KGMSDC), a society promoted by the Government of Karnataka and the Government of India with the technical support of GIZ International Services (InS). GIZ InS has set up the first of its kind, the Karnataka German Technical Training Institutes (KGTTIs), to promote social and economic empowerment through skill enhancement. The upcoming centre in Mysuru will offer trainings in the area of advanced technology.
Objective: To develop the Karnataka German Technical Training Institute Mysuru as a world class training centre offering specialized skill training programmes tailored to the needs of industry in Karnataka and beyond.
Approach: The approach is to conduct programmes in various areas of technology that will add value and increase productivity in all sectors. The project aims to become a leading training centre offering vocational training programmes, bridging the gap and producing a ready, skilled workforce for the industry.
Output: GIZ InS will provide comprehensive technical assistance, handhold and build the capacity of KGMSDC to develop state-of-the-art training facility at KGTTI Mysuru. GIZ InS will provide all services required to enable KGTTI Mysuru to become centre of international repute in the field of technical training in a sustainable manner.
The assignment is proposed to be implemented in four phases:
Phase 1: Conceptualization and Planning for KGTTI:
Phase 2: Preparation for starting up preliminary KGTTI activities (Operationalizing from makeshift arrangements and Plans for new facility):
Phase 3: Operationalization of new facility:
Phase 4: Consolidation and further Growth Strategy
Impact: KGMSDCs will work in close collaboration with the industry to produce a highly skilled workforce while operating with flexibility and striving for financial self-sustainability.
