Context
Empowering women economically is critical for inclusive growth, good governance, social cohesion, and a resilient Lebanese economy. By tackling gender discrimination and promoting supportive policies, the project lays the foundation for sustainable development.
Objective
The WE-HUB project aims to foster gender equity and socio-economic empowerment for women in Lebanon. Funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France and GIZ, WE-HUB brings together national institutions, civil society, and the private sector to create inclusive, data-driven policy reforms and targeted support for women in business.
Activities
We are building an inclusive, gender-equitable ecosystem to support women's economic participation in Lebanon. This involves data driven proposed reforms, legislative advocacy, socio-economic empowerment, and targeted support to women in business.
At WE-HUB we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable economy in Lebanon by empowering women to participate fully in the workforce. This includes policy advocacy, networking support, training, and targeted financial and technical assistance for women entrepreneurs. Precisely, we work in two streams: Legislative Advocacy & Policy Influence where we:
Raise Awareness using regularly updated information on women's economic participation;
Collaborate with public and private sector, civil society organizations and international organizations for policy change;
Conduct action-oriented research to guide reforms;
Socio-Economic Empowerment, where we:
Facilitate networking between women-led businesses and investors;
Raise awareness of gender discrimination in the private sector;
Provide grants, mentorship, and capacity-building to women in business;
