The further training courses on “Industry 4.0” for teachers and in-company trainers at LILAMA 2 college

To continue the series of further training on Industry 4.0, from August 14th to 26th 2023, two multipliers, Mr Le Van Hung and Mr Nguyen Trong Tin of LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) conducted two courses on “Connecting IoT Gateway with PLC Programming on HMI Interface” and “Application of Scalance XC208 and S615 in System Network Safety and Security” for 11 teachers from TVET institutes and 04 in-company trainers. These topics are also important parts of Modules 11 and 12 of the German standard-oriented training programmes for Mechatronics and Industrial Electronics occupations.

The training courses aimed to equip participants with knowledge, practical skills, and application for TVET teachers and in-company trainers to implement tasks such as programming robot control and data connectivity to the cloud using the S7-1500 PLC through an HMI interface, which contributed to enhance the performance and reliability of the automation system; Setting up a virtual private network (VPN), using SINEMA RC for establishing communication and security between two automated production clusters, configuring firewall settings in Siemens S615, installing SINEMA RC applications on a Desktop CPU, etc.

Mr Nguyen Bao Huy, teacher from An Giang Vocational College, shared his thoughts: “By leveraging the capabilities of the PLC S7-1500 and integrating the unique safety features of Scalance XC208 and S615, we not only ensure efficiency in robot control programming but also maximize safety and security. The process of data transition and transmission through the network is carried out safely and reliably. After attending these two courses, we are capable of implementing some training content on Industry 4.0 of Mechatronics occupation.”

Mr. Ngo Van Loc, the in-company trainer from Martech Boiler Company, gave feedback: “Through this training course, I have gained a solid understanding of programming and controlling robots using the PLC S7-1500, along with the ability to interact through the Internet of Things (IoT) system. I believe that this knowledge can be effectively applied to my job at the company to efficiently tackle related tasks.”

At the end of the training course, the teachers were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to continue disseminating to teachers and students in the coming time and timely grasp the new trends of Industry 4.0.

The further training courses were held within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes” as part of the Vietnamese- German Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
